2019 SUMMER Clinics & Specials

Posted on June 18, 2019 at 11:10 PM Comments comments (19)

With temperatures quickly climbing here in the Southwest, we can safely say "Summer's Here!"

Here at RedBird Community Acupuncture we are busy continuing to provide affordable quality acupuncture and holistic medicine, one patient at a time and with a continued vision to "give the people what they want!"

That said, we are proud to launch our new Specialty Clinics (that you all requested), Wednesday Summer Special (for New Patients), and Friday Morning Hours.

Two Specialty Clinics will be offered starting in July, on alternating Saturdays.

1-Saturday July 6th  and July 20th  9:00am-1:00pm:   Cupping & Chinese Massage Therapy

This clinic will provide cupping & Chinese massage in 30 minute appointment sessions for $30  (cash or check; no cards)

Cupping is commonly used to treat tight & sore muscles of the neck, upper back, and lower back (including sciatica).

Chinese massage is also applied in the session to work on knots in the muscles and improve circulation and decrease pain.

2- Saturday July 13th and July 27th 9:00am-1:00pm:    Children's Shonishin Therapy

this clinic will provide 30 minute appointment sessions "just for kids" with Shonishin Japanese Therapy.  Cost: $20 (cash or check, no cards)

Shonishin means "little children" in Japanese and is a specialized treatment of stimulating the acupuncture points and channels with small metal tools.  This therapy does NOT use acupuncture needles, just the small metal tools which are gentle and therapeutic.

Shonishin has been used in Japan as a highly respected therapy for common ailments seen in children like recurrent cough, ear infections, asthma, allergies, digestive problems, and behavioral & emotional issues ie. ADD, ADHD, ASD etc.  Parents must complete intake forms for their child; these forms can be picked up at clinic ahead of time and brought completed to clinic for appointment.

Please note:  Both Specialty Clinics will be Limited on Capacity so Appointments are Required (Book Online or Call/Text Clinic); you can also sign up in the clinic scheduler.

Wednesday Special for New Patients:  Evaluation and Treatment $20 (normally sliding scale $25-45)

If you have been wanting to try Acupuncture and are curious about our Community Style, drop in on Wednesday 2:00-6:00pm

Since you will be a new patient, new medical forms will need to be filled out before the evaluation & treatment so plan to spend at least an hour or slightly more to be properly assessed and not be rushed on your first visit & orientation.

New patients must schedule an appointment but same day appointments are often available by Booking Online or calling/texting the clinic.

Friday Morning Mini-Clinic Session:  Morning Hours 10:00-12:00

This clinic session will be available for the summer only, so if you'd like a morning treatment before the day gets hot, book online or call/text clinic.

We hope you will be just as excited about these new summer services & specials as we are to provide them to you and your family.

Stay cool and we'll see you in clinic soon,

Dr. Rebeccah

2018- Celebrating 6 Years!

Posted on August 18, 2018 at 11:50 PM Comments comments (0)

Welcome to the RedBird Community and our first blog post!  If you have been treated at our clinic you know that we focus on providing gentle, effective community-style acupuncture in a beautiful tranquil space that many quickly appreciate as a respite from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.  As I write this first post, I am reminded of our humble beginnings at our first location 403 Isleta (just down from the South Valley Economic Development Center), when we were simply called Community Acupuncture Clinic, which later changed to Bamboo Community Acupuncture Clinic. After a few years at that location, a sudden unexpected change (and blessing!)  brought us to our current location, 1221 Isleta (directly across from the Westside Community Clinic)- yes, the home of the Annual Dia de Los Muertos/ Marigold Parade, one of my favorite celebrations of the year.  It is a day I think about my journey to the Southwest, my Caribbean roots, and my motivations to be here in Albuquerque offering my training in Acupuncture to help as many people as I can with this incredible model of affordable healthcare!

As we come on 6 years of serving in Albuquerque's South Valley, I can celebrate with you that we have treated close to 500 patients and delivered thousands of treatments, one patient at a time, without alot of fanfare, just bringing relief one day at a time to those that find our clinic.  Our new location has been a real blessing and we are growing into our new name, RedBird Community Acupuncture.  New Location, New Name, More Healing, More Energy, and More Community.  This motivates me to press forward and share more what we offer and how we can best serve the community.  With that said, it's time to celebrate!  So, here are some things we are cooking up for Fall 2018:

We have launched our On-Line Scheduler, so if you like to "Book Online" it is fast and simple!

We will be offering Specials to make it fun & easy to refer family and friends to try acupuncture!

We will be expanding available clinic appointment times so you can still get treated even on those busy days when "everybody gets the same idea"!

We will be launching an informational session on Shonishin Treatments for Children.  This is a special Japanese-style treatment to address common conditions kids may have, with a no-needle technique that is very relaxing and effective.  Great for asthma, common colds, digestive complaints, attention & focus, and much more.

So there you have it, our first blog post, not bad for an Acupunk (an acupuncturist who treats alot of patients community-style) who just enjoys needling patients.  I hope this inspires you to check out our sweet healing space and give acupuncture a try.  We are here to serve you.  To all our established patients who support RedBird Community Acupuncture, thank you for trusting in us to deliver gentle affordable healthcare and holding a space for all to get better.

Blessings & wellness
